Cultivar discussion:
The Okie is a producer of very large light brown chestnuts. Nuts fall free of the burr and fall mid season. The nuts are easy to peel. The tree has a spreading growth form. Medium production level. A hybrid of Japanese and Allegheny Chinquapin from Univeristy of California Davis. The blooms are very beautiful and produces an abundance of pollen.
